Important Winter Olympics Questions
1) Why do they call it a bobsled? and more importantly
2) Why am I not receiving royalties for the use of my name?

(But of course you would have to pay royalties to Sue Encourt.)
I thought it might have been because the term "Brenda Sled" was already copyrighted.
Since the Germans always win, shouldn't it be a Rudbertsled?
Funny,
My son (we homeschool), recently wrote a report on this. He found that it was called bobsled (bobsleigh) because back in the day the original sledders "bobbed" their heads to increase the momentum of their sled.
This is what he found according to our old Britannica set.
Good stuff.
