Five Stages of Voting in the Republican Primary

Denial (December 31, 2007): Duncan Hunter has a chance.

Anger (after Iowa): If Huckabee gets the nomination, I'll just stay home. The GOP is doomed.

Bargaining (after South Carolina): Please Fred, stay in the race till Super Tuesday.

Depression (after Florida): This is the field we have left to choose from? Why can't we have a conservative choice?

Acceptance (today): Next Tuesday, I'll hold my nose and vote for John McCain. He's better than Hillary.

Well that's the way to ENSURE that Hillary wins. Why give up now--and for such a disaster in waiting?

I laugh at all the people who are upset with the "right wing" of the party for failing to support McCain. Ha! I'm far from right wing--I'm a former Rudy supporter. And I wouldn't vote for McCain now--or in the general election. He has neither the intelligence nor the demeanor to be President. He's a committed class warrior--his anti-business/pro-big government record appalls me. And he fails as a warrior against Islamic extremism too because he is against using every means at our disposal to catch, confine and debrief the enemies in our midst. There's more to winning the war against US than staying in Iraq for "100 years" and/or fighting "more wars".

McCain? Nope. No way. Not now, not ever.

Keep your powder dry, gentlemen. 01 Feb-04 Nov is an ETERNITY in politics. We have no idea how many things will be turned upside down before the election.

No. Most of us won't hold our noses and vote for McCain because he will not win, even if all the liberal Republican governors endorse him. Perry does not stand for most Texans. Like many, he lied to get the votes, then changed back to do what he wants, not what the people want. And that's McCain. Once true Republicans get to vote, Romney will prevail.

I'd rather let Hill-Obama run our country into the ground for four years so that conservatives can take it back in 2012 then let McCain lead us into the ground and let the left blame us.

I feel the same as Cannonball and depending on his VP choice, I may just sit it out.

The American Conservative Union ratings (acuratings.org) give McCain a lifetime 82.3% score. That's a lot better than "Obamary".

Yeah, go check John McCain's rating at acuratings.org. His lifetime rating is in fact 82.

In fact, check his numbers from about 1995 on. He's been below that 82 average for 10 straight years now, and his 2006 ACU rating was 65-- the only Republicans lower than him (of the 55 back then) were Ted Stevens, Richard Lugar, Olympia Snowe, Susan Collins, George Voinovich, Arlen Spector, Lincoln Chafee, and John Warner. What a fine group of RINOs to beat out. The other 46 Republican Senators all came up higher than John McCain.

Suddenly that 82 average doesn't look so shiny, now does it?

All glowing comments from the networks for Senator McCain….. Republican pick in the primaries by the NYT. I’m sure they all truly want the “best” opposition for Hillary they can find (yeah, right). Why is it I think the networks and NYT will be reminding us of the “Keating Five” and how he very unceremoniously dumped his first wife after her automobile accident that left her in a wheel chair for a “new” (spoken in Ron White style) wife with money. They all know Hillary will beat McCain easily with their help.

I will never vote for McCain.

Why would you hold your nose and vote for him in the PRIMARIES because he's better than Hillary? Vote for someone who's better than McCain. Just because he's ahead doesn't mean you have to vote for him
