A Quick Correction for Joe Biden

During tonight's debate, among his many "interesting" statements, Joe Biden said that John McCain voted against the Violence Against Women Act he (Biden) had written and passed. That, unlike so many of the other things he said happens to be true. But Biden left something out. McCain wasn't the only one to vote against the VAWA...

...so did the Supreme Court! In United States v. Morrison, the Court ruled that much of Biden's law was an unconstitutional power grab by Congress of rights reserved to the states. So voting against just demonstrates McCain's superior intellect and/or commitment to Constitutional government.

Okay, hopefully McCain does possess superior intellect. However, I still can't get over the fact that if we want to vote against Obama, we have to vote for a candidate who admits to being unfaithful to his first wife and divorced because in her words "he was 40 and wanted to be 25 again". What a great reason for doing something! What will he do when he's 75 and feels like being 55 again?!!! His wife admits to being addicted to drugs and STEALING them. Hello, people of America, are these the sterling leaders we want to choose for ourselves? I know I'm not saying anything new, but what I am saying is this is the WORST election year ever--oh wait, I'm still not saying anything new!

What McCain did was wrong, but the toll of abuse as a POW really does have long-lasting psychological effects. That pattern of divorce after return was sadly very common. Still wrong, but not surprising.

As for Cindy's addiction to painkillers, that isn't very surprising either. Until you live with severe back pain like she did, it's hard to understand how attractive relief can be.

Never judge someone until you walk a mile in their shoes. That way, you have a mile headstart...and they have to chase you barefooted!
